8 Days Kenya Magical Safari

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi-Maasai Mara national reserve

At the airport in Nairobi, you will be welcomed by our safari guide or at the hotel, you will be briefed and then he will transfer you to Maasai Mara national reserve. You will have several stopovers to view the Great Rift Valley which stretches for over 1,500km.

You should know that Maasai Mara is famously known for its annual wildebeests and zebras migrating from Serengeti and also one of the world’s natural wonders. It is a home of diverse wildlife take an example of the big five animals (buffalo, elephant, rhino, lion and leopard), cheetahs, warthogs, primates like olive baboons, giraffes among others.

Day 2: Game drives in Maasai Mara

Day 3: Maasai Mara national reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park

Arise early and enjoy a chilly breakfast and then head to Lake Nakuru national famous for the flamingos that change the ground into pink. You will arrive early and have a chance to relax as you take your lunch at flamingo hill camp, as you prepare for an evening game drive at around 17;00hours.

This park offers a rare insight into Kenya’s most diverse flora and fauna, take an example of over 450 bird species and other several wildlife such as the lions, warthogs, white rhinos, leopards, among others.

The evening game drive will give you a chance to spot many wild game and spot points which favours photography.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru national park – Amboseli national park

Take breakfast after rising and find your way to Amboseli national park where you can spot Kenya’s wildlife at the backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain. Amboseli national park covers an area of 392sq.km located in the northern part of Kenya on the border of Tanzania.

The locals around the park are the Maasai but other people also have settled in the area due to improved tourism-driven economy and extensive agriculture in the swamps. The park is a home of over 400 bird species including pelicans, cranes, kingfishers, hammerkop, among others.

The park also gives a view of Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Animals that can be found in this park are cape buffalos, impalas, and lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, blue wildebeest, giraffes among others.

Day 5: Full day drive in Amboseli national park

Rise early and head for a full day game drive with your packed lunch and breakfast. Enjoy beautiful untouched scenery, diverse wildlife such as the cape buffalos, impalas, and lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, blue wildebeest, giraffes and also bird species like pelicans, cranes, kingfishers, hamerkop among others. lunch picnic in this national park is an adventurous moment.

Day 6: Amboseli NP-Tsavo east national park

Depart to Tsavo national park after breakfast via Shetani lava flow and on the arrival, you will be served with lunch as you relax while preparing for the afternoon game drive.

The Tsavo east national park is famous for the man-eater lions, and beautiful scenery like the Mzima springs that attract a large number of wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles and also many crater lakes like Chaimu crater and also a big number of prey birds.

Note that Tsavo east N/Park is a densely vegetated national park and this makes it hard to spot most of the wildlife but it’s a good spot for photography due to its beautiful scenery.

Day 7: Full day Tsavo east NP exploration

Rise early and explore Tsavo east national park where you will encounter many attractions such as rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, lesser kudu, waterbucks among others and also over 500 species of birds are recorded such as ostriches, kestrels, buzzards, starlings, weaverbirds secretary birds, hornbills among others.

This needs to take your time because the park has dense vegetation making it hard to view these animals. A full-day experience in Tsavo east national park is a great adventure and worth a memorable encounter.

Day 8: Depart to Nairobi and a drop off at Jomo Kenyatta international airport

Prepare to depart Tsavo east to Kenya’s capital – Nairobi after your breakfast where you will take a short excursion depending on your scheduled flight.
