Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to a hotel in Nairobi
Welcome to Kenya, the safari will take you to two national parks which are famously known for their wildlife.
You will transfer to the booked hotel in Nairobi city where you will have your dinner and overnight. You can enjoy nightlife and visit different clubs, bards, and casinos among others.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park
Transfer to L. Nakuru national park after a chilly breakfast where you will be able to take an afternoon game drive after your breakfast to spot various wildlife.
L. Nakuru national park covers an area of 45sq.km with plenty of wildlife species, with over 450 bird species, 56 mammal species and home of 4 of the big five mammals. It takes approximately 2 hours to drive from Nairobi to this park.
Among other mammals found here are Rothschild’s giraffes, rhinos, waterbucks, hyenas, wildebeests and various primates like olive baboons, Vervet monkeys, etc.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara national reserve
Have an early morning game drive after breakfast, enroute to Maasai Mara n/park. This is Kenya’s most preserved nature reserve and famous for its impressive big cats such as cheetahs and lions. The Mara River in this park favours many animals in this savannah making it good for game drives.
Among the wildlife population, you also get to see the migration of millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras from Serengeti N/park. Masai Mara is located in the southern part of Kenya at the border with Tanzania.
It is also known for its unique culture the Masai people who are cattle keepers and are believed to be the ancestral inhabitants of this place. You will take an evening game drive and spot these animals in the wilderness.
Day 4: Full day game drive in Maasai Mara national reserve
Take a full day game drive as you enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild as you spot a number of the game such as lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffaloes and leopards.
You may have a chance to visit the Maasai people who are believed to be the ancestral habitats of Maasai Mara national reserve. These people have a unique culture full of traditional music, meals and dressing. You will return to the lodge for your dinner.
Day 5: Morning game drive and transfer back to Nairobi
Take a morning tea/coffee followed with a morning game drive that takes place in the Mara plains to sight the missed attractions. Then head back to Nairobi which will be followed by the drop off at Jomo Kenyatta international airport or the hotel in Nairobi city.
