In this 21 Days Grand East Africa safari, you will find value for your money. The trip covers east Africa’s finest destinations and amazing activities; you should have encountered all the famous preys and predators, primates, reptiles, and bird species.

You will visit Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara national park in Kenya, Volcanoes and Nyungwe Nation Park in Rwanda, Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda, and Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Zanzibar in Tanzania.

You will engage in the Game drives, Boat cruises and cultural encounters with the Masai and Batwa pygmies, city tour, and photography among others. The trip starts in Kenya and ends in Tanzania, after 21 days and 20 nights of hospitality, comfort, fun and discovery.

Details

Day 1: Nairobi city tour

“Karibu” will be the right local word as you land at the airport for your 20Days Grand East Africa safari; unrivaled offer in Africa. You will look out for a young Gentleman with a placard inscribed on your lovely name. He will meet and brief you about the trip, responding to all your questions, as well as offering some tips for enjoying an African safari.

Thereafter, there will be a glass of Juice to sip before embarking on a rewarding Nairobi city Tour were you will drive around the noisy busy streets with a mixture of ancient and modern infrastructures, and natives carrying on with the trade. You will visit the country’s main museum and local markets before heading for dinner and overnight at your Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park

At sunrise, you will have a yummy breakfast, followed by departure to Lake Nakuru national park, while traversing rolling hills, scattered homesteads and green plantations spread across the tarmac and marram roads.

The driver-guide will have an en-route stopover for photography, and Lunch, before entering the Park with a worthwhile game drive until late in the evening when you will head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Uncover Lake Nakuru.

You will leave your lodge after breakfast with packed lunch and head for a full day game drive in the vast Lake Nakuru national park; one of Kenya’s gifted destinations.

You will first have 4-5 hours of an interrupted game drive, searching for both big and small game, where luck can present lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalos, elephants, zebras, giraffes and warthogs among others feeding, hunting or resting under some of the sort-after tree species in the wild.

You will have a picnic lunch break before completing the day by the lake shores which host the park’s main attractions, the Pink flamingoes, accompanied by several other bird species such as the ostriches, kingfisher, the shoebill stock and Cori bustard among others.  Dinner and overnight at the lodge after all activities

Day 4: Transfer to Masai Mara

Clear your sleep with a delicious cup of coffee before checking out of the lodge for a transfer to Masai Mara National park; everyone’s dream destination, and a true hub to nature and wildlife, with a large concentration of Lions and other mammals such as the Buffalos, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, antelopes, and wildebeest among others. Masai Mara national park is also a co-host to the annual wildebeest migration which occurs from June to September.

The drive passes through some flourishing plantations, the magnificent great rift migration where you will stop for some photos, and Narok center where your mouth-watering Lunch will be served.

Thereafter, have two more hours on a maram road to the park, where you will have an evening Game drive in such of the lions, leopards, Buffalos, and so on before retiring to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Explore Masai Mara and Mara River

At the start of this new day, join your guide for full day game drive in the Vast Masai Mara national park; home to Africa’s big5 namely, lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, and leopards, co-existing with millions of separate Antelope species, warthogs, giraffes, zebras, and many more, as well as rare bird species such as ostrich and flamingoes among others, fascinating landscape and unique tree species among others.

You will have a break for bush breakfast, before then another for lunch, before spotting the sight of Hippos, crocodiles, and several other mammals residing by the famous Mara river; a death trap for the wildebeest, together with several other mammals during the annual migration.  Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge after the day’s activities.

Day 6: Masai Mara to Serengeti – Tanzania

At daybreak, greet your intestines with a cup of coffee, before checking out of the lodge for a 5-6 hours’ drive to Serengeti national park in northern Tanzania.

As you arrive at Kenya – Tanzania boarder at Isebania, you will meet our company representative in Tanzania who will receive and drive you to your hotel in Serengeti for dinner and a nap.

If time allows, you can even do a sunset game drive to discover Serengeti’s most famous mammals and cat residents.

Day 7: Full day game drive at Serengeti national park

You will meet your guide at the hotel after breakfast, be briefed and drive to into the wilderness of Serengeti national park, one of Tanzania’s top travel destinations and a host of the annual wildebeest migration.

This 7-8 hours’ game drive traverses through great undulating hills, golden savannah, mammals, and the views of wildebeest migration and abundant birdlife scattered in the wild. You will enjoy a traditional picnic lunch and later drive to the lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Serengeti game viewing and Maasai cultural encounter

You will brighten your morning with a lip-smacking cup of coffee, before having a 3-4 hours’ game drive in the vast Serengeti national park. With luck on your side, you will spot both prey and predators, namely; Jackson hartebeests, oribis, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards and Rhinos among others. You will watch a fascinating landscape and several rare bird species.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch before proceeding for a cultural encounter with the Maasai warriors who will take you through thrilling cultural dances, stories, and songs, plus selling to you some of their souvenirs. Feel free to support some of their projects before driving back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater – evening top of the crater hike

At sunrise, you will have breakfast before checking out of the lodge for a drive to Ngorongoro crater where you will arrive in the afternoon and head for lunch, followed by top of the crater hike that gives you a chance of glancing at the world’s largest crater and one of the seven world wonders.

You will also have the opportunity of sporting different primates, birds, and many of Africa’s big five namely, lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 10: Game drive and fly to Zanzibar

You will wake up to a heavy breakfast, before checking out of the lodge for a 4-5 hours’ game drive in Ngorongoro crater, only having a lunch hour break. The many attractions include Mammal such as the wildebeest, lions, Buffalos, Rhinos, zebras, elephants, cheetahs, Leopards, and many more, plus Birds, primates, the eye-catching crater and the unique tree species among others.

Thereafter, you will return to the lodge for lunch, before checking out of the lodge for a drive to Arusha airport for a flight to the famous Zanzibar Island, an amazing place for relaxation after a long adventure. On arrival, meet our company representative will brief before taking you for dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 11: Zanzibar – relax at the white sand beach

Right from sunrise, you will enjoy the cold breeze emanating from the Indian Ocean as well as relaxing by the white sand beaches, participating in different activities such as diving, swimming, beach soccer among others, and feasting on the different sea foods.

The entire day is all yours to relax, meditate, and reflect different issues concerning your life. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 12: Visit the Old town and departure to Rwanda

Depending on the time of your flight, you will visit the old town after breakfast, and enjoy the ancient buildings, erected by Arabs who made the place a slave market and residence of their kings and chiefs. The place is still decorated with art worth admiring. 

After, return to the lodge and checkout for a flight to Kigali airport – Rwanda.

Day 13: Depart to Nyungwe national park

On this day, you will have a relaxed morning breakfast, before undertaking a 1-2 hours’ city tour in Kigali. During this excursion, you’ll visit some of the Kigali’s most renowned historical and cultural sites including the presidential palace museum, the Belgian monument, Hotel Rwanda, Genocide museum, Nyamirambo women center, etc.

Return to the hotel, check out and embark on a 4-5 hour transfer to Nyungwe National park; a primate world, hosting 13 primate species including the chimpanzees, baboons, and monkeys among others.

The driver passes through a very scenic route that exposes you to the beautiful sight of Rwanda’s undulating hills, the backdrop of the magnificent lush ranges, Rwandan natives carrying on with their daily chores, and the green plantations among others.

The driver will have an enroute stopover at a place you deem very fascinating for photography as well as for lunch, before proceeding to the lodge at the park for refreshment, and relaxation by the gardens before dinner is served and lights switched off for a nap.

Day 14: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk

At 06:00hrs, respond to the call of breakfast, before driving to the park’s headquarters for a pre trekking briefing which commences at 08:00hrs, with the park rangers who will show you different documentaries, register you and explain some of the regulations guiding Chimpanzee trekking to ensure conservation.

After the briefing, the park ranger, together with a guide will lead you to the Jungle to search for the creatures; sharing 98% human DNA, and possessing similar behaviors to human beings thus referred to as our cousins.

The entire search can last for 1-5 hours depending on your speed and the direction s the creatures have taken, though no need for worries because there are several other primates, birds, and unique tree species to encounter before meeting your cousins. 

Upon finding the chimps, one hour is left for you to watch and closely study the creatures before having a lunch break, relaxation, and an afternoon forest canopy walk, that gives you a chance of watching the primates at the treetops, the beautiful landscape and the homesteads spread across the neighborhood. You will retire to Bed after dinner at the Lodge, upon fulfilling the day’s tasks.

Day 15: Transfer to Volcanoes national park

Take an early morning forest walk or tea plantation tour, you’ll return to the hotel for breakfast, join the company driver-guide for a briefing before proceeding with a 4-5 hours’ drive to volcanoes national park; home to the endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys among other forest dwellers.  

Day 16: Golden monkey trekking ad cultural tour

Equipped with all the golden monkey trekking items, depart your lodge after breakfast for the park’s headquarters where you will meet your other colleagues with the same interests. The park rangers will brief the entire team on the dos and don’ts while with the creatures, respond to your questions and verify your documents before accompanying you to the jungle for this 1-5 hour tiresome, yet very rewarding adventure.

In comparison with other monkeys, Golden monkeys are very swift, playful, attractive, and shy so you will need to be very alert while taking photos and watching them play, feed, and skip from tree branch to another.

After watching for one hour, return to the lodge for lunch and choose to either relax that we recommend or visit the Iby’Iwacu cultural village to learn about the Rwandan culture and many more things, before a making a dinner call and a nap.

Day 17: Volcanoes national park to Bwindi national park

You will depart Volcanoes national park for Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park in Uganda after breakfast. The drive is comprised of charming undulating hills, the fascinating border post where your documents will be verified before proceeding with the drive, with an enroute lunch hour stopover in Kisoro town and then a drive to the Rushaga or Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park situated in the southwestern part of Uganda. You will relax at the lodge as dinner and overnight come later in the night.

Day 18: Mountain gorilla tracking and Batwa encounter

You will Wake up early in the morning for an energy-giving cup of coffee, followed by a 1-6 hours of mountain gorilla tracking in the thick Bwindi jungle after briefing and document verification at the Park headquarters.

Bwindi impenetrable national park hosts half of the world’s mountain gorilla population which are believed to be different from those of other destinations such as Volcanoes national park in Rwanda and Virunga national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The tracking experience requires some fitness and carefulness to navigate through the lush forest, and hilly landscape, with not only gorillas but also several other primate species, reptiles, and birds. Maximize the one-hour allowance with the apes to take as many photos as possible and ask all questions in your minds before exiting the Jungle for Lunch.

After lunch, you will rest a little before heading for an exciting evening with the Batwa Pygmies; Reformed hunters and gatherers who will take you through exciting stories, traditional songs, and dances and showcase some of their ancient cages. Call off this day with a delicious dinner meal and a calm nap.

Day 19: Depart Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth National Park Via the Ishasha sector

After breakfast, checkout of the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, a drive which lasts for 4-5 hours, with an en-route game drive at the ishasha sector where you will be lucky to spot the tree-climbing lions either resting upon the tree branches are roaming in the vast savanna grassland.

After spending 2-3 hours’ game drive, enjoy a mothering lunch at the sector before proceeding with your journey to the lodge for refreshment as dinner and overnight end the day.

Day 20: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

On this day, you will spend your morning hours, after breakfast in the gigantic grassland of Queen Elizabeth national park, searching for the morning risers as they head to the field, and the night hunters returning to their hideouts. some of the mammals, bird species and reptiles to look out for in your 3-4 hours of game drive include leopards, buffaloes, elephants, Oribis, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, giraffes, and zebras among others, crested cranes, the Rwenzori Turaco and the lovebirds among others.

After this activity, delicious lunch will follow before heading for a 2-3 hours’ boat cruise in the Kazinga channel, a habitat for a school of hippos, crocodiles, and several other mammals that depend on the water for bath and quench their thirst.

After watching and taking photos of the creatures, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 21: Depart to Entebbe international airport. End of safari.

Leave Queen Elizabeth national park after a relaxed breakfast; drive past Mbarara city, through Igongo cultural center for traditional lunch buffet and then at the equator for photo shoots and souvenirs.
