Welcome to East Africa! this safari will take you to the two beautiful countries – Kenya and Tanzania which are well known for their diverse wildlife and cultures and you will explore and discover the big five animals, unique cultures, the big cats, witness the annual migration of wildebeests and zebras and also encounter several lakes that attract amazing bird life such as flamingos, fish eagles, malachite kingfishers among others. The safari will begin in Nairobi – Kenya and it will end in Arusha – Tanzania.
Detailed itinerary
Day one: Nairobi-Samburu
Welcome to Kenya in the city of Nairobi, you will be briefed by the expert tour driver guide in our company uniform. He will transfer you to Samburu game reserve which is situated in the southern corner of Samburu district in the rift valley and it covers an area of 165sq.km.
It’s a home of over 350 bird species and among others are the bee-eaters, yellow-billed hornbill, vultures, sunbirds among others with several animals like the three big cats which are lions, cheetahs and leopards.
Other animals are elephants, waterbucks, black rhinos and Grant’s gazelles. On the arrival, you will take a short evening game drive to encounter the wildlife in this reserve and then check in the accommodation after be served with dinner.
Day two: Full day in Samburu game reserve
Enjoy a full day game drive in this reserve as you discover more wildlife. Mid breakfast will be served at your safari lodge and then proceed with the game drive, enjoy a lunch picnic in the wilderness and behold the scenery.
Among other animals you will discover are elephants, waterbucks, black rhinos, Grant ’s gazelles, lions, cheetahs and leopards. Late in the evening return to the lodge for your accommodation.
Day three: Depart Samburu to Aberdare N/Park
Have a chilly breakfast and transfer to Aberdare national park. Aberdare national park is situated in the east of eastern rift valley and it got its name from the Aberdare mountain ranges that can be viewed while in the park. It’s famous for its large number of herds of elephants and also provides a good view of Lake Olbolosat. It covers an area of 767sq.kilometers, and home of a large number of wildlife and among others include black rhinos, buffalos, elephants, bushbucks, leopards, spotted hyenas and warthogs.
Day four: Aberdare – Lake Nakuru national park
You will take a morning thrilling game drive after a well-spiced tea and head to Lake Nakuru national park well known for its large number of flamingos. This park is situated in the Great Rift Valley, and this has attracted over 350 bird species and also many animals such as giraffes, rhinos, waterbucks among others.
The journey can take two hours and on the arrival be served with lunch and then head for an evening game drive.
Day five: Game drive in Lake Nakuru national park
Take a morning and evening game drive in this park as you discover more wildlife. These game drives will make you discover this beautiful national park since you will be able to reach most of the corners thriving around.
Among other animals that will be discovered are giraffes, rhinos, waterbucks, hyenas, wildebeests and various primates like olive baboons and Vervet monkeys.
Day six: Lake Nakuru national park – Maasai Mara national reserve
Take a drive to Maasai Mara as you discover the beauty of Nakuru through a morning game drive. Maasai Mara is situated in the south-western of the country and it’s one of the popular national park in Kenya. It was established in 1961 as a wildlife sanctuary and in 1974 it was turned into a national park.
It’s famous for the annual migration of wildebeest and zebras and also the only reserve you can spot the big five animals. Wildlife here includes over 500 species of birds, namely secretary bird, grey crowned crane, little grebe, African darter, yellow-billed stork among others.
Day seven-eight: Maasai Mara exclusive safari
These two exciting days will begin immediately after waking up where you will take a full day discovering the beauty of this reserve penetrating through all corners. You will also have a chance to visit the Maasai people who are believed to have the early ancestry of this reserve.
You will be entertained with their traditional dances and also taste their meals. Among other animals that will be spotted are the big five animals, the big cats and other primates like olive baboons, Vervet monkeys among others.
Day nine: Maasai Mara – Serengeti
Welcome to Tanzania! As you wake up, prepare to embark on a journey to Serengeti national park in Tanzania. It is located in the northern part of Tanzania covering an area of 14,750square kilometres and it receives over 350,000 visitors per year.
Serengeti is home to abundant wildlife including impalas, leopards, black rhinos, cheetahs, elephants and several bird species like the grey crowned crane, superb starling, black eagles among others. Other than that, it is a good birding area with over 500 species of birds.
It takes 3-4 hours’ drive which is an adventurous encounter of its own. On arrival, you will check in the accommodation place or head for a game drive if there’s time which will mark the end of your day.
Day ten: Full day in Serengeti
Discover the beauty of this park as you take a thriving game drive in the plains where you will discover more wildlife such as the big five (lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffalos), cheetahs, giraffes, hippos and birds like African darter, African harrier hawk, African open billed stork, vultures, kori bustard, Hadada ibis among others. You will have your lunch picnic while discovering more wildlife.
Day eleven: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Transfer to Ngorongoro crater where you will enjoy more wildlife. Covering an area of 8,292 square kilometres, it is famous for such crater is without question only found in Ngorongoro.
It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and home to the highest density of big game in Africa. It is also a home to over 500 bird species such as Superb Starling, Rufous Tailed Weaver and the African White-backed Vulture among others. And also mammals like leopard, elephant, buffalo and black rhino, giraffe, Grant’s gazelle among others.
You will check in your lodge on arrival and be served with dinner after the evening game drive.
Day twelve: Discover Ngorongoro
Discover the Ngorongoro area after breakfast where you will discover its uniqueness from other national parks. You will have a lunch break at the lodge or picnic and then proceed with a game drive where you will spot several animals such as leopard, elephants, black rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes and Grant’s gazelles among others.
This park is beautiful as you view it from the crater rim where you will have opportunities to take amazing photography and spot the animals taking water. Return to the lodge for your evening relaxation.
Day thirteen: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara national park
Have a game drive as you find your way to Lake Manyara national park after breakfast. The journey takes 4 to 5 hours covering a distance of over 300km. It has diverse landscape and vast wildlife, you can have a great spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley and meet abundant bird species.
On arrival, you will take in an afternoon game drive after your lunch where you will discover lions, hippos, buffaloes, elephants and so many others. You will check in the booked accommodation facility for your dinner.
Day fourteen: Lake Manyara N/Park – Arusha. Departure
On this last day, you will check out from the hotel/lodge and transfer to Arusha with a calm game drive as you spot more game. The day will end with a drop off at the airport where you will board a flight back home.
