Explore the wildlife in Serengeti national park, and draw closer to the world’s largest crater, Ngorongoro crater which doubles as one of the seven wonders in Tanzania. You will have cultural encounters with the Batwa pygmies in Uganda and the Maasai people in Tanzania, spend the nights in comfortable lodges, and be guided by an expert knowledgeable guide. The safari starts in Uganda and ends in Tanzania.
Overview
Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour
On this day, our expert driver-guide will meet you at either the airport or your hotel and brief you about this 15days safari in three of Africa’s finest wildlife destinations. He will digest everything in the itinerary before starting the journey, through the modern infrastructure, and undulating hills.
You will first visit the reptile village to encounter some of the reptiles which have been rescued such as snakes, chameleons, tortoise and many more for roughly 30 minutes to one hour, before proceeding to Kampala city where you will have lunch, followed by a visit to the museum and the local markets before retiring to your hotel for dinner and overnight
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
As you leave the bed, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before checking out of the lodge for a drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park in the western part of Uganda, a 6-7 hours’ drive through a busy tarmac and maram road, decorated with flourishing plantations and undulating hills among others. You will have an en-route stopover for Lunch, and then proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla trekking and Batwa pygmies
A breakfast call is the first activity as you depart your bed, before driving to the sectors headquarters to register and attend a briefing that commences as early as 8:00 am local time. The park rangers will show you documentaries of the different gorilla families, explain the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking, and then allocate you to a gorilla family of your choice that they will accompany you to search for in the jungle.
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi lasts for roughly 1-7 hours depending on your pace and the directions the apes have taken, but with other exciting encounters of different birds, and primates such as monkeys and baboons.
Upon meeting these gentle apes, you will be given one hour to watch and take photos of the gentle silver backs guarding their territory, young stars somersaulting while playing and the mothers nursing their young ones.
Thereafter, depart the Jungle for Lunch before heading for an exciting Batwa pygmies encounter outside that park. The Batwa are reportedly the shortest people in Uganda, whose past was wondering and gathering in the Bwindi and Mgahinga forest, but were displaced when the two areas were turned into wildlife reserves.
They are still among the few ancient cultures on earth that have not adopted modernity and go on with their ancient practices. They will take you through interesting stories, songs, and dances, and show you their ancient caves if time allows before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park- Ishasha sector
After breakfast, you will depart Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for Queen Elizabeth national park; one of the most visited national parks in Uganda, and home to the Tree climbing lions that you will have the opportunity of spotting when arriving at the Ishasha sector. You don’t need to find them on the tree branches though on a good day you will while on a 2-3hour game drive there.
Afterwards, enjoy a mouth-watering lunch before proceeding to your lodge for a relaxed evening as dinner and overnight follow.
Day 5: Game viewing and boat cruise
At sunrise, breakfast is served, before exiting the lodge with packed lunch for a 4-5 hours’ drive across the vast grassland, harboring both the big and small mammals, including 4 of Africa’s big5 namely; the elephants, lions, buffalos, and leopards, together with several other mammals such as the giraffes, warthogs, zebras and different antelope species among others, not forgetting the birds, mammals, and primates.
After the game drive, you will enjoy your picnic lunch before heading for an afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga channel, 2-3 hours of taking classic photos, and spotting a school of crocodiles, hippos, birds and several mammals quenching their thirst. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Morning game drive and transfer to Nairobi – Kenya
On this day, you will have 2-3 hours’ game drive very early in the morning to catch-up with the early risers and the night hunters that you probably wanted to see but missed out in the previous day, such as the lions, hyenas, and the leopards which tend to hide.
Thereafter, you will return to the lodge for late breakfast, before checking out for a 5-6 hours’ drive to Entebbe international airport, but with an en-route stop at the equator for photography, lunch, and watching the water experiments at the equator.
Upon arriving at Nairobi, our company representative will meet and transfer you to your hotel for diner and overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park
You will depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru after breakfast for yet another rewarding experience and scenic drive, bypassing undulating hills, flourishing plantations, and the scattered homesteads across the countryside.
Depending on the choice of the driver guide, he will have an enroute stopover for photography, before arriving at the park for lunch and afternoon birding opportunity by the lake shores of Lake Nakuru, where the sound and beautiful colors of flamingoes and other birds fill your eyes and ears.
After the rewarding evening, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Full day of game viewing in L. Nakuru national park
Wake up to a delicious cup of coffee early in the morning, before heading for a full day game drive in the gigantic Lake Nakuru national park. You will visit all corners in a quest for mammals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, Oribis, waterbucks, giraffes, zebras, and elephants among others, before a lunch break.
After lunch, head to the shores of Lake Nakuru to witness the different birds such as the kingfisher, guinea fowls, shoebill stork, and flamingoes among others, feeding, and relaxing.
Thereafter, drive to the lodge to have a relaxed evening, followed by dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 9: Drive to Masai Mara game reserve – afternoon game drive
Early in the morning, your driver-guide will meet and brief you at the lodge after breakfast, followed by a transfer to Masai Mara national park, traversing the rift valley region where you have a chance of visiting the local markets to purchase some souvenirs and taking pictures.
This drive lasts for 6-7 hours, with an en-route stopover at the Great Rift Valley for photography, and another at Narok center for Lunch, before proceeding to the lodge, arriving in the evening for a relaxed evening, rewarded with a delicious dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Full day game drive
Partake the morning cup of coffee, before heading for morning and evening game drive across the gigantic Masai reserve. You will look out for the different predators in this destination such as the lions, leopards, hyenas, and cheetahs among others, and then prey’s such as the elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, zebras, rhinos, and giraffes among others, birds, lush vegetation and the eye-catching landscape among others.
You will have picnic lunch, and then spend the entire evening by the Masai river to watch the crocodiles, hippos, birds, and several others before making a sunset drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Depart Masai Mara for Serengeti national park in Tanzania
After breakfast, you will say farewell to Masai Mara national park for Serengeti national park in northern Tanzania, on a long drive of over 5 hours but can be simplified by use of a chartered flight for Jomo Kenyatta national park at an affordable price.
However, while on a drive, you will stop for document verification at the Kenya – Tanzania border post and then lunch later on before an amazing game drive as you drive to your lodge in Serengeti national park.
Day 12: Game drive and village walk
At sunrise, you will depart the lodge for a 3-4 hours of game drive in a park that has for long been known for a wide range of biodiversity, flora and fauna, and fascinating landscape. If it is not a season of the wildebeest migration, then expect to spot several mammals roaming in the vast savannah grassland, which offers asylum to a variety of wildlife such as lions, wildebeest which are dominant, buffalos, elephants, giraffes and cheetahs among others.
Serengeti national park is the number one national park in Tanzania and one of the best in East Africa.
After the game drive, enjoy bush breakfast, before driving back to the lodge for relaxation as lunch is set, after which you will proceed for a rewarding cultural experience with Maasai Warriors who will leave your ribs aching through their cultural dances, songs, and stories.
They will also sell o you some of their cultural wear, jewelry that will beautify you on your return.
Consume dinner and overnight after the long day of adventure
Day 13: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater-relaxation
At 08:00 am, you will depart Serengeti national park with a rewarding game drive as you exit the park to Ngorongoro crater, one of the world’s seven natural wonders and one of Tanzania’s most visited national parks.
You will enjoy amazing views on the way, with an en-route stopover where the park ranger deems interesting. You will arrive at the park in the afternoon, and enjoy a lip-smacking lunch meal, before spending the rest of the evening relaxing or choosing an optional activity to do.
You will retire to bed after feeling your stomach with delicious dinner.
Day 14: Morning game drive and hiking to the crater summit
Early in the morning, you will reward yourself with heavy breakfast, before heading for a game driver for approximately 3-4 hours in search for all the Africa’s big 5 namely the lions, buffalos, elephants, rhinos and leopards among others, plus several other mammals, birds, primates and the fascinating landscape.
You will drive back to the lodge for lunch, before heading for the top of the crater hike which exposes you not only to the world’s largest crater, but also several other attractions spread across the park, and the hideouts of the mammals. After the adventure, you will drive to the lodge for a nap after dinner.
Day 15: Departure.
You will greet your taste glands with a yummy cup of coffee, before checking out of the lodge for a scenic drive to the airport for a flight to your next destination.
