Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu NP
Meet and be welcomed by the company representative on the arrival at the airport or at the hotel and start the safari to Samburu national park as you cross a thorny landscape. Samburu national park is well famous for the gravy’s zebras and it covers an area of 165sq.kilometers, situated on the banks of Ewaso Ng’iro River in Kenya.
The journey to this reserve from Nairobi covers a distance of 350km taking 5-6 hours’ drive. It’s a home of abundant wildlife and such as African leopards, lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, cheetah and several antelopes such as the impalas, waterbucks, kirk’s dik-dik among others.
Also, it is a home to over 350 bird species and among others include lilac-breasted roller, tawny eagle, various vultures and superb starling. Arrive and be served with lunch and then an afternoon game drive will be followed to spot these wildlife.
Day 2: Whole day Samburu exploration
You will enjoy the two game drives and these are the morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu reserve, where you will be able to spot a number of attractions within the golden savannah landscape.
Among the many animals spotted here are African leopards, lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, cheetah and several antelopes such as the impalas, waterbucks, kirk’s dik-dik among others and birds like lilac-breasted roller, tawny eagle, various vultures and superb starling. Ewaso Ng’iro River has crocodiles in large numbers and these game drives will cover a distance of 105sq.km
Day 3: Samburu NP – Nairobi. End of safari.
Wake up early for a game drive to spot the missed attractions and also enjoy the beauty of Samburu national reserve. Mid breakfast at the lodge and then transfer back to Nairobi city with a stopover on the way to buy some souvenirs, which will be followed by the drop off at the hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta international airport.
